O Lord God, the Father almighty, you inspire our prayers, and you are ready to hear them. Turn your merciful ears to our cry, pity us, and loose the bonds of our sins;  through Jesus Christ, your Son our Lord, Who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen.

Pray Now

“I Am The Vine”

(and you are the branches)

(Acts 8:26–40) Philip’s Evangelism of the Ethiopian Eunuch

(Psalm 150) The Final Great Psalm of Praise

(1 John 4:1–11) & (1 John 12–21)
Encouragement to the true love of God and neighbor

(John 15:1–8) Jesus is the Vine, and we are the Branches

STEWARDSHIP FOCUS

John 10:14 – “I am the Good Shepherd. I know my own and my own know me.”

What does it mean to know the Lord? It starts with being known by the Lord. He claims us as His own and He calls us by name. Then, once we are His, we learn to know Him, and in knowing Him, we learn to imitate Him. That is how the Christian life of good works and generosity grows from the Lord’s grace.

Salutation & Collect

From the rising of the sun to it’s setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised

O God, You make the minds of Your faithful to be of one will. Grant that we may love what You have commanded and desire what You promise, that among the many changes of this world our hearts may be fixed where true joys are found; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now an forever.

Life Thoughts

The world ridicules motherhood as hindrance. It complains that children get in the way of education, career, income, gratification, and even climate. But the testimony of God is greater than the testimony of men (1 John 5:9). Real life and full life come in Christ Jesus, His Son, who shows us the joy of loving and keeping every daughter and son the Holy Father gives (John 17:11-12).

♪  Psalm 51

Entrance Psalm

Create in Me a Clean Heart, O God
1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin!
3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment.
5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Why are There So Many Bible Translations, and Which One is Best?

April 5th, 2024

This is a common question on a huge subject. There is a lot to know and learn about Bible translations, and some are a bit more passionate about which translation they feel is “best”. But is that the question to ask? These are my thoughts.
